The SRP – Skin Rejuvenation Peel

The SRP, which is my Skin Rejuvenation Peel, treats acne, acne pits, melasma (brown discolorations), and rosacea; and most importantly, SRP is a non-surgical method for rejuvenating older aging skin. This proprietary procedure delivers results like no other treatment.

The SRP reaches the deep layer of the dermis and allows the reduction of medium to deep wrinkles, reduces loose skin, and improves the appearance of old scars. Many times the SRP reduces actinic keratosis, which stems from sun exposure leading often to pre-cancerous skin. SRP will usually produce long-lasting and dramatic results, which can last up to 20 years. Patients often end up looking 18 to 20 years younger, without having a surgical procedure.

SRP is a phenol-based treatment, and, as such, it is the gold standard by which other peels and lasers treatments are measured.

I have personally developed this buffered phenol-based treatment, improving upon it for the past 30 years.

This treatment penetrates in a very controlled way through the important outer layer of the skin to treat sun damage, loose and aging skin, and severe scars.

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT HAVING A CHEMICAL PEEL?

Chemical peels offered to you by a board-certified plastic surgeon like me are time tested and are very safe and beneficial. The word chemical should not scare you. We use “chemical” products on a daily basis. These products were created by pharmaceutical companies that employ brilliant chemists who produce these chemical agents – and extensive testing is performed to ensure safety and efficiency.

What about acids? Many of our everyday medications are made of acids and bases, and the same standards apply to these products that allow the skin, our largest organ in the body, to improve.

HOW MANY TYPES OF CHEMICAL PEELS EXIST?

Generally, there are three types of peels: light, medium, and deep.

These are classified according to the depth of change that each of them contributes.

THE ADVANTAGES OF CHEMICAL PEELS

As we age, our skin, especially the skin on the face, reminds us of it. My SRP treatment provides our patients with glowing new skin, decreasing the need for makeup and various other treatments.

HOW IS SRP DONE

The SRP is done under anesthesia performed by a board-certified anesthesiologist. Over the years, I have developed a combination treatment that utilizes the buffered peel and laser while injecting your own fat to enrich areas of the face or other parts of the body that have aged and suffer from loss of volume. During their recovery, patients have swelling, some discomfort, and minimal-to-no pain.

Many patients, including my father, enjoyed tremendous improvements in their skin with no need to use any make up; their skin stayed young and continued to improve over the next five years. The results lasted over 20 years.
