Male liposuction gives men a way to reduce or eliminate pockets of fat resistant to diet and exercise. Daniel Man, M.D., a Florida board-certified plastic surgeon, performs male liposuction on men living in and around Boca Raton, FL, to give them a trim, solid physique and a renewed sense of self-confidence.

What is Male Liposuction?

Male liposuction is essentially liposuction but performed on men in the targeted areas where fat tends to accumulate, such as the mid-section. No matter how extensive their workout or healthy their diets, men can still have stubborn areas of fat that is unaffected by their lifestyle. With male liposuction, men can show off the efforts of their hard work and display a more chiseled torso that men tend to have.

Benefits of Male Liposuction

Male liposuction is done to reduce and erase small pockets of fat that tend to accumulate around the abdomen.

Men request it because of the following benefits:

  • Shows off the efforts of a stringent fitness plan
  • Recovery is faster tan more invasive procedures
  • Gives back their self-esteem
  • Specifically takes aim at spot fat reduction

Is Male Liposuction Right for Me?

If you maintain a healthy lifestyle including nutrition and fitness but still have areas of fat around the middle that tend to resist any or your efforts, male liposuction may be right for you. It is important to understand that you need a healthy attitude towards this or any cosmetic procedure by having realistic expectations about the outcome.

How Involved is Male Liposuction?

As an experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. Man is skilled at performing liposuction in such a way that he knows how to remove fat while maintaining a masculine physique. Men want to be able to highlight washboard or six-pack abs, instead of having a flat stomach like women want. Dr. Man understands that different types of liposuction procedures offer different outcomes. Once he evaluates his patient’s concerns and determines that liposuction is the best option, he reviews the options and crafts a plan that results in the patient’s idea of what he wants. There are several different types of liposuction.

Types of Male Liposuction

Body Jet™ Liposuction

This is a new liposuction method in which Dr. Man uses water flow to dislodge fat. As a cutting-edge liposuction procedure, Dr. Man is especially skilled at this process since he assisted in the FDA approval of Body Jet™ liposuction and wrote a clinical paper, “Water-Jet Assisted Liposuction,” that was published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

SmartLipo™

SmartLipo™ is a minimally invasive liposuction treatment performed under local anesthesia. With SmartLipo™, fat deposits are removed by liquefying them and removing the fat through a tiny cannula that also uses a laser to coagulate small blood vessels immediately. This reduces bleeding, swelling and bruising. SmartLipo™ is performed with patients on a vertical bed so that Dr. Man can be more precise with reshaping after the fat removal.

Tickle Lipo™

With a Tickle Lipo™ cannula, Dr. Man glides through fatty tissue to effectively sculpt the body with less bruising and a much faster recovery. Tickle Lipo™ is performed in the office while the patient is awake. Its results are excellent, and the process is safe and comfortable.

Liposuction is always performed with the same process:

  • Anesthesia: Anesthesia is used to ensure comfort and no sensation during the procedures. There are three types typically used during male liposuction: local anesthesia, intravenous sedation, and general anesthesia. The anesthesiologist determines the best option for each patient.
  • Incisions: Incisions made during liposuction are very small so that a cannula can be inserted into the targeted area. A diluted local anesthetic is injected into the targeted area to lessen any bleeding and trauma.
  • Suction: Fat is loosened with a cannula inserted into the incisions. Once it is dislodged, a surgical vacuum gets rid of the fat, leaving a more defined physique.

How is the Recovery from Male Liposuction?

One of the main reasons men are looking to liposuction is that it offers a shorter recovery than other surgical procedures. Following the procedure, patients rest comfortably as the anesthesia wears off. Any necessary medications are administered to prevent infection and minimize discomfort. Dr. Man typically follows up to ensure incisions heal properly and the results are satisfactory.

During liposuction recovery, elastic bandages may cover treatment areas once the procedure is completed to help to control swelling and compress the skin. Small, temporary drains may be placed to remove any excess blood or fluid. Slight swelling may last a few days to a week, and any bruising will subside over the following week or so.

The results of liposuction may last longer if patients maintain a healthy diet and exercise. Patients may request follow-up procedures to tighten loose skin, which is why it is important to maintain a relationship with the surgeon. Since men who typically get male liposuction do so to accent their physical fitness, they work hard to maintain their chiseled physique.

How Much Does Liposuction Cost?

There are several factors that go into the cost of liposuction for men. These factors include where the excess fat is located, as well as the extent of the fat in that area to be treated and if other procedures are planned at the same time. During an initial consultation, we go over the costs along with our payment options. We accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards as well as offer financing.
