Chin implants are often done with a nose surgery or facelift in order to make the chin more prominent. The chin defines our profile and gives balance to our face. A chin implant is inserted through a small incision underneath the chin. Several stitches are used to close the suture site. After your surgery, the chin will feel numb and sore for several weeks. Swelling may also be experienced. Complications include infection, scar tissue formation, and shifting of the implant.
